Benefits of Using Plywood
Strength and durability - Plywood has a very good strength to weight ratio and is often used for formwork or fabricated beams in building structures. In fact, many old kitchens (in houses built in the 1960’s and prior) were built from plywood and despite their out-dated looks and functionality, they are still structurally sound and useable.
Stability - Timber expands and contracts across its grain as it takes in and loses moisture to the atmosphere. The way plywood is constructed, this movement is limited making it very stable.
Ease of use - Plywood panels can be cut and shaped very easily and can also be veneered, providing clients with a more sustainable veneering option.
Quality Assurance - The Plywood Association of Australia (PAA) provides a third party, audited, industry wide quality control program to ensure the plywood products used in Australia comply with the Australian standards to reliability and consistent quality. NOTE: All plywood boards used by Select Custom Joinery carry the PAA stamp.
