Client Brief:
Design, manufacture and install joinery for a local Bed & Breakfast opening up a new room - including ensuite and kitchenette.
Finished Product:
As the B&B is situated in a semi-rural setting, the joinery was designed to characterise the country atmosphere. The owners had some old decking timber they were planning to burn and were amazed and delighted when we showed them what we could do with the timber. We discovered the decking timber was blackbutt, a durable and stable timber, often used for internal joinery and fine furniture.
The blackbutt timber decking was recycled into a solid timber benchtop with timber support leg in the ensuite, the ensuite toilet seat and solid timber benchtop in the kitchenette. The doors in the kitchenette were built from veneered tasmanian oak and high feature eucalypt veneer.
The recycled timber joinery helps to maintain the country atmosphere whilst also enhancing the warm and cosy outlook of the B&B.
