Brief:

When a client asked if we would be interested in building a round-to-round extension table, our curiosity was piqued and the challenge began (most round extension tables extend to an oval shape, rather than a round).

This particular table was built as a gallery piece and our original client has commissioned a table with a slightly simpler design.

Result:

This table is a practical piece of furniture designed to be a feature in the room.

When unextended, the table comfortably seats 4 people and when extended comfortably  seats 8 people.  The veneer for the table-top is cut into a sunburst design with 8 panels creating a striking effect when the table is fully extended.

The pedestal design maximises comfort and knee space whilst maintaining a stable surface.

Materials:

  • Figured eucalypt veneer
  • Recycled blackbutt
  • Redgum burl
