Flat panel solid timber doors….how is that possible?

If you know a little bit about timber, you probably know that timber moves. You may also know that timber doors are supposed to be built as a frame and panel to allow for timber movement. Which is why, when most people think of timber kitchen doors, they think of a country kitchen.

A lot of people love timber, but they don’t necessarily want a country kitchen look. Timber is a classic, durable material. When designed and built well, timber looks good as years progress and lasts well as it ages.

But a flat panel, solid timber door? How is that possible? No, we haven’t gone mad. These doors are busy on the inside and flat on the outside. As Dalai Lama XIV said: “Know the rules well, so you can break them effectively.” We’ve (that’s the royal we. Gino is the genius behind Select Custom Joinery’s innovations.) reverse engineered timber doors to create a flat panel door.

These doors subscribe to our values of high quality and sustainability.

Our flat panel solid timber doors are an innovation and part of our intellectual property. If you’d like to talk more about the technical information, feel free to chat with Gino. You can contact us here. Gino has been working with timber for over 35 years and has trained as a furniture maker/cabinet maker. During his career, he has invented and innovated new ways of working such as flat panel plywood kitchens, solid timber kitchens using contemporary methods, flat pack drawers and a DIY plinth system to name a few. Last year, he invented a hinge for a client to fulfill the brief. Innovation is part of what we do and how we stay in business.
